Wait (some hours) until it shuts off, hopefully at 5% charge.įourth, charge it to 100% (hopefully). Third, turn your computer on and unplug the power cord (charger) so the computer is running on battery power. I'm going to try it anyway, having set it up to hibernate at 5%. Basically, this is a setting where turning off the computer if it's not in use will be overridden. Apparently they lose this ability over time. This is supposed to reset the "meter" to show accurate battery percentage charges. I did a bit of research and learned that reconditioning or re-callibrating is something done every 3-6 months depending on the computer/battery. I got some non-oem batteries for them with instructions about conditioning/callibrating/breaking in. I'd try Acer first, to see what they can do for you. It sounds like your computer may still be under warranty. I understand that batteries get old but at just 6 months this happened all at once. Just in the last few days the battery stopped charging all the way. Servicesp12 wrote:My battery will not charge to 100% I have had this unit for about 9 months.
